When I was a young boy, I knew of Kenny Mclean and rode horses for a man in northern BC where I attended the William's Lake Stampede and other small rodeos and fall fairs in Northern BC.  I've returned to the Kispiox Valley, and today help out with the Kispiox Valley Rodeo Club and other community events. I've grown up as an artist with sixty-three years of wonderful life, and mentors like Kenny Mclean, who gave me hope and helped me to believe that anything is possible, it just takes hard work.

When I read of the bronze statue project, I wanted to help in some small way, so I began working on this image of Kenny on his horse Warrior. The eagle represents our mythical heritage as First Nations people; it also reminds me that the sky is the limit and with good vision and help from the Creator of all, we can soar with eagles.
